The Governing Board may choose to honor a distinguished alumnus/alumna of the College by granting the Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Award. The general criteria for qualifying for this award shall be that the person selected shall have achieved distinction in his/her chosen field of endeavor and/or have demonstrated on-going and extensive contributions to the College. Persons may be nominated for this award by a Trustee or any other person. The recognition will usually take place at the spring commencement. Recipients will be selected by the Governing Board. The Superintendent/President has established procedures for the implementation of this policy. These procedures are located in the Office of the Superintendent/President.
